"The Least of These."

a little something i wrote while listening to bethany dillon just now, inspired by one of my favorite passages, isaiah 61 ... also the discussions that i have listened to & been a part of in my urban theology class which have stretched me, challenged me, and broken my heart all at the same time ... Jesus still holds all the pieces in His hand & it has been quite the journey so far, watching & witnessing Him healing me, all along the way ... may this remind you of the cry/call that He has placed in your own heart & lead you to His throne today.

in this young heart of mine lies visions, hopes, possibilities
i fathom meeting the Maker who fashioned them for me
seeing Him face to face, touching His hands and feet
captured by His heart for the nations and the least of these
those who seek peace, long for freedom and liberty
those who desire life in the midst of adversity
those who dream of their destiny unfolding
those who are risk-takers, daring to take the steps
one day at a time ... the journey of revolutionaries
designed to be everything that encompasses the essence of Jesus
extraordinary Son of God, You are the Enabler, Dream Fulfiller, Broundary Breaker
and i, as one who is ordinary speak for those who are the least of these ...
show us what it means to live life abundantly
teach us what it means to love freely
break our hearts and give us Yours
fill every part of us with who You are
You, Master of the nations, make Yourself known in our lives
show Yourself strong in this moment and for the rest of our lives
that You would not just be a movement that we join
but a lasting legacy that we leave ...
it is YOU Dream Fulfiller, it is You who causes us to make this plea.
