i was debating whether or not to write this & even while i am writing this, tears flow ... it seems that God is bringing me into a new season - in my studies, in my friendships, my calling, my healing, & growth. at church (the Lamb's), pastor salguero just started a series on the kingdom of God. how fitting is it that God would pair that with ushering me into this new season. i am so overjoyed that the kingdom of God is all over the place - starbucks, nyack manhattan campus, chinese american bible church, the lamb's church, metro hope church, all our workplaces, ministries, families, marriages ... let me just note here that we should be diligent in carrying out kingdom principles, but even more, that we would put on the "kingdom mentality" in place of the "world/man's mentality" ... that each of us would be holders of just ONE passport - the kingdom's, & not dual passport holders - straddling the border.
for those who do not already know, i am soon going to start the process of working out a membership transference from CABC to the Lamb's Church (here on the Lower East Side, NYC). when you remember me, please say a prayer for me, because this period of transition is a bit tough, though refreshing at the same time.
CABCers: it's been such a long time coming (10 yrs +). many of you have watched me grow up, mature, and have been very instrumental in guiding, leading, and teaching me ... modeling for me what it means and looks like to be a young woman of God. i have also watched many of your kids grow up, having had the privilege of teaching them, and building friendships with them. some of you have also gone from being my sunday school teacher, youth group counselor (back in the day) to becoming fellow brothers and sisters in Christ ... i cherish each and every friendship that God has allowed to prosper. thank you for the privilege and blessing of being able to minister to you from being involved in the music ministry, to christian education ministry, to youth ministry. thank you all for your words of encouragement, Godly counsel, and prayers. thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving the Savior alongside of you - some of the most dedicated, hard-working, and humble people ... you have greatly blessed & enriched my life.
CABC Youth Group: you guys rock! many of you i have watched grow up, i have had in sunday school, counseled & befriended in youth group, worked with during VBS, and served with on worship team. some of you i have just gotten to know. for the times that i have been there for youth group & youth group events, it has always been so fun & stress-free! you guys know how to have FUN, silly people! no matter what, keep seeking the Lord, keep letting Him love you & let His love change your life & the lives of people around you! keep in touch! you have no excuse, a good number of CABCers are now on facebook, so ... I'M WATCHING YOU! :) be good!
to my new church family: the Lamb's Church, thank you for being so warm and welcoming me into this new home with open arms. if there is one thing i ask, it's that you all please be patient with me ... when something is new & fresh, especially when it's something that i've been waiting on the Lord for (it's been a couple of years now), it's scary for me - to be walking right into what God had planned long before i even knew it, so i may be hesitant, i may be timid at times, but keep pursuing to build a friendship with me (if God puts that on your heart). if i try to run, pull me by the sleeve & don't let me go if at all possible. i'm glad that God has placed you guys in my life & me in yours for such a time as this! let's grow together & be reconcilers & redeemers of this city together!
in all things, seek to be submissive & obedient to the Holy Spirit, for His love is better than life itself!
peace & blessings to you all, be well!
